'The island that time forgot' covers the people, wildlife and geography of Laughlan Islands, an atoll at the eastern edge of New Guinea in the Solomon Sea. The remoteness of these islands preserve the primitive culture of their native people. Trading with a nearby island once a year and the occasional visitor by boat are the only contact they have with the outside world. Living in balance with the land and the sea providing for all their needs for centuries, these people are happy and healthy. A threat comes in the form of a Taiwanese clam poaching vessel which strips the giant clams from their reef. Who knows what affect this will have on this isolated ecosystem.
